Recommended Vaccinations
Hepatitis A
The Hepatitis A vaccine is systematically recommended, as the viruses that cause this disease are resistant to many disinfection methods. With a fairly high prevalence, Hepatitis A, which is a liver infection, is transmitted through food and water or by contact with an infected person or object. Be vigilant about what you eat and choose your dining venues carefully.
Hepatitis B
Part of the standard vaccination schedule, the Hepatitis B vaccine is especially recommended for travelers visiting countries where the disease is prevalent and healthcare systems are less reliable.
For a trip to Guadeloupe, vaccinations against Typhoid and DTP (Diphtheria – Tetanus – Poliomyelitis) are also recommended.
Mosquito Prevention
Although there is no malaria in Guadeloupe, it is recommended to bring mosquito repellents to reduce the risk of contracting dengue, chikungunya, and Zika.
